A PINE TREE WHISPERED

A pine tree beckoned to me
“Come sit, come share
Beneath my embracing arms.
Share your secrets, your joys
Those sorrows that weigh you low.
My branches are mighty
Strong to encompass
Strong to enfold
Come sit, come share”.

A pine tree called me
“Come, come sit
Come share.
Your secrets safe in my bank
The bark of my life
Held secure in my trunk.
Secrets, many secrets
Held and whispered
Wept and hugged into my aged fabric.
Come. Come sit, come share”.

A pine tree whispered to me
Whispered ‘sweet nothingsʼ
As I wept, as I sobbed.
A life unwanted
A life wasted
A life abusing
As abused.
“Life is. Life is.
Still love exists.
We know through pain.
We are by sharing.”

A pine tree loved me...
